The truth about what’s wrong in the Arab world

Muhammad Ayish wrote a good opinion article on the launch in Cairo last week of the First Arab Cultural Development Report by the Beirut-based Arab Thought Foundation. He wrote this in The National the UAE.

The report has been received with considerable excitement around the region, not only for its significant revelations about the dire conditions of knowledge in the Arab world, but because it is the first critical account of pan-Arab cultural development to be produced by Arab intellectuals; published by an independent Arab organisation; and launched in an Arab city with rich cultural traditions.
