Benedict has already spoken of the need for practical results much more explicitly in the past and the Catholic-Muslim Forum held at the Vatican earlier this month was hardly the polite but empty encounter that Weigel hints. Benedict's comment is only a restatement of his fundamental view of interreligious dialogue and not some kind of new perspective on how to pursue it practically.
